Niavaran Cultural Center hosted Austrian jazz group “Sketchbook Quartet” on the fifth day of the 35th Fajr Music Festival.

Sketchbook Quartet is a Vienna-based post-jazz group, featuring Andi Tausch, Leonhard Skorupa, Oscar Castellano and Lucas Ischinger.

Four young musicians of the group share their interest in the modern creative improvised sound. They try to break through genre-borders and play a mixture of prog-rock with chamber jazz and a set of strong rhythms that shift around.

The Austrian musicians displayed their art by performing modern and creative pieces and received widespread applause from the audience. They used unusual combination of instrument during their performance.

Fajr Music Festival curator, Mohammad Allahyari was the special guest of the performance.
