35th Fajr International Music Festival ended on February 20 at the Vahdat Hall with officials and artists in attendance.

The festival began on February 12 with Mohammad Allahyari as its director and Shahin Fahrhat as its secretary.

The performances of the festival, ranging from classical and orchestral to traditional music, were held at Vahdat Hall, Roudaki Hall, Niavaran Cultural Center, Soureh Hall, Azadi Cultural Complex and Milad Concert Hall.

Fajr Provincial Music Festival began from Sistan and Baluchestan Province to express sympathy to the flood-stricken people of the region. Sistan and Baluchestan’s local bands performed in Zahedan, Chabahar, Nikshahr and Qasr-e-qand from February 9 to 14.

The festival also commemorated the victims of the Ukrainian plane crash on January with the performance of Behzad Abdi’s “176” by Tehran Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Nasir Heydarian and Abdi’s “Under Siege” by Iran’s National Orchestra, conducted by Sohrab Kashef with participation of Salar Aghili as singer.

The first round of “Music and Media” and “Song of the year” awards were among the new programs of the festival. Along with Tehran, Bushehr, East Azarbaijan, Khuzestan, Golestan, Fars, North Khorasan, Zanjan, Sistan and Baluchestan and Arvand Free Zone host the festival.

During the musical event, great Iranian musicians such as Ofelia Parto, Nader Mashayekhi, Ashiq Hassan Eskandari and Houshang Zarif were honored.
